5. General Terms

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.

No contract shall exist between Reglaze Glasses Direct and the Customer until we have accepted your order.

All orders are accepted subject to availability.

These Terms & Conditions supersede any previous verbal or written representations relating to the goods or services supplied by Reglaze Glasses Direct unless otherwise agreed in writing.

No employee, representative or agent of Reglaze Glasses Direct has authority to vary these Terms & Conditions unless confirmed by a Director of the Company in writing.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

6. Description of Goods & Services

Reglaze Glasses Direct manufactures bespoke prescription lenses using the prescription and specifications supplied by the customer or their prescribing optometrist.

Every pair of prescription lenses is individually manufactured specifically for the customer and therefore constitutes a bespoke product.

While every reasonable effort is made to ensure product descriptions, specifications and images are accurate, manufacturers may occasionally make changes to lens designs, materials or coatings without prior notice. Such changes will not materially affect the performance or intended purpose of the product.

7. Ordering Prescription Lenses

When placing an order, you confirm that:

  • the prescription supplied has been issued by a suitably qualified optometrist or medical practitioner;
  • the prescription is valid at the time of ordering;
  • all prescription details supplied are complete and accurate;
  • any measurements supplied are correct.

We manufacture lenses precisely to the prescription and measurements supplied.

If you are unsure of your prescription or have any concerns regarding its suitability, you should consult your prescribing optometrist before placing your order.

8. Pupillary Distance (PD) & Measurements

Where supplied, we will use the Pupillary Distance (PD) measurements provided by your optometrist.

Where requested, we may measure PD from an existing pair of spectacles or from photographs supplied by the customer. Whilst every reasonable care is taken, these methods may not provide the same degree of accuracy as measurements taken in person by a dispensing optician.

By requesting us to obtain measurements in this way, you acknowledge and accept the limitations of these alternative measuring methods.

Where appropriate, we may make adjustments to PD measurements when manufacturing reading or occupational lenses.

9. Customer Frames

As part of our reglazing service, customers supply their own spectacle frames.

Whilst every reasonable care is taken during inspection, cleaning and glazing, some older, fragile, rimless or previously damaged frames may not be suitable for reglazing.

We reserve the right to decline any reglaze where, in our professional opinion, the frame is unlikely to withstand the glazing process safely.

If concerns are identified after receipt of your frame, we will contact you before proceeding.

Where a customer instructs us to continue against our professional recommendation, Reglaze Glasses Direct cannot accept responsibility for damage resulting from the condition or age of the frame itself.

Where possible, removed prescription lenses will be returned to the customer; however, we cannot guarantee that removed lenses will remain undamaged during the removal process.

Frame refurbishment, ultrasonic cleaning and replacement of consumable parts such as screws, nose pads or end tips are carried out with reasonable care. Exact colour or style matching cannot always be guaranteed.

10. Promotions & Discount Codes

Promotional offers and discount codes are offered at the discretion of Reglaze Glasses Direct.

We reserve the right to amend, withdraw or refuse any promotion or discount code at any time where we reasonably believe it has been used contrary to its intended purpose or published terms.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • only one promotional offer may be used per order;
  • discount codes cannot be combined with other offers;
  • certain specialist lenses or bespoke products may be excluded;
  • promotional offers may not apply to telephone or manually processed orders.

11. Eligibility to Order

By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age or are placing the order on behalf of someone under your lawful care or responsibility.

Where an order is placed on behalf of another person, you confirm that you have the authority to provide their prescription details and place the order on their behalf.

12. Delivery

We aim to dispatch our pre-paid returns box (where applicable) on the same working day for orders placed before 4:30pm. Orders placed after this time will normally be dispatched on the next working day.

Once your glasses have been received by our laboratory, we aim to complete your order and dispatch your glasses within 5–7 working days. Some specialist lens types or manufacturer lead times may require additional time. Where this is the case, we will keep you informed.

International delivery times will vary depending upon destination and local postal services.

All delivery dates quoted by Reglaze Glasses Direct are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

We cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by manufacturers, courier companies, Royal Mail, customs authorities or any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Where delivery cannot be completed because incorrect delivery details have been supplied, delivery has been refused, or for any other reason beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to recover any reasonable additional delivery, insurance or storage costs incurred.

13. Inspection of Goods

Upon receiving your glasses, you should inspect them carefully before use.

If you believe your order has been damaged during transit, has not been manufactured in accordance with your prescription or specification, or contains any manufacturing defect, please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable.

Please do not continue wearing the lenses if you believe there may be a fault until we have had the opportunity to investigate.

14. Prescription Adaptation

Every prescription is unique, and some customers require a period of adaptation when wearing new prescription lenses.

This is particularly common where there has been:

  • a significant prescription change;
  • a new or increased prism correction;
  • a change of varifocal design;
  • a change of lens material;
  • a change of lens index;
  • different fitting measurements; or
  • bespoke dispensing requirements.

Difficulty adapting to a new prescription does not necessarily indicate that the lenses have been manufactured incorrectly.

If you experience any difficulty with your new lenses, we ask that you contact us before arranging replacement lenses or obtaining alternative lenses elsewhere. In many cases we are able to work with you and your prescribing optometrist to investigate the cause and identify the most appropriate solution.

15. Prescription Changes After Manufacture

Reglaze Glasses Direct manufactures every pair of lenses precisely to the prescription and measurements supplied with your order.

Every completed pair of lenses is inspected and verified before dispatch.

If, following manufacture, your optometrist subsequently changes your prescription, recommends different fitting measurements or determines that alternative dispensing or fitting positions are required, this does not in itself indicate that the original lenses were manufactured incorrectly.

A subsequent prescription change, clinical recommendation or dispensing adjustment does not automatically constitute a manufacturing fault.

16. Manufacturing Faults

If you believe your lenses have a manufacturing fault, please contact us as soon as possible.

All returned lenses will be inspected by our laboratory.

Where a manufacturing fault is confirmed, or where the lenses have not been manufactured in accordance with the prescription or specification supplied, we will remake or replace the lenses at no additional cost.

If a suitable remedy cannot reasonably be provided, we will offer an appropriate refund or other remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.

17. Returns & Goodwill Refunds

As every pair of prescription lenses is individually manufactured to your prescription, all lenses are bespoke products and cannot be reused or resold.

Every request for a refund or remake is considered individually.

Where lenses have been manufactured correctly to the prescription and measurements supplied, but we agree a refund as a gesture of goodwill, we reserve the right to retain a reasonable proportion of the purchase price (typically up to 30%) to reflect the manufacturing costs incurred in producing bespoke prescription lenses that cannot be reused or resold.

Where appropriate, and if requested, we will refit your original lenses into your frames before returning them.

Postage, delivery and insurance charges are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.

18. Our 30-Day Satisfaction Promise

We want every customer to enjoy comfortable, high-quality vision and will always make every reasonable effort to resolve any concerns.

If you are dissatisfied with your new lenses, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order so that we have the opportunity to investigate the matter fully.

Many concerns can be resolved through adjustments, advice or by working with your prescribing optometrist.

Our aim is always to reach a fair and reasonable outcome for both parties.

19. Your Consumer Rights

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation.

Where goods are faulty, not as described or have not been manufactured in accordance with the prescription or specification supplied, you remain entitled to the remedies available to you under UK law.

These Terms explain how Reglaze Glasses Direct will normally deal with returns and adaptations but do not affect any rights you have under applicable consumer legislation.
